Taco Salad lives on...

So for anyone that is interested this is the closest "recipe" I've found thus far. There is also one on allrecipes dot com that is close.

1 lb ground beef
1 can kidney beans
1 8 oz bottle Catalina dressing
1 pkg taco mix

Brown ground beef, drain. Add kidneys beans(undrained) taco mix and dressing. Stir until just heated.

In a VERY LARGE bowl mix:

1 head iceberg lettuce (torn in bite size pieces)
1 bag Corn Tortilla chips, crushed
1 or 2 lbs shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
1 can black olives

Just before serving add meat mixture and stir. Serve raw onion, diced tomatoe, sour cream, guac and salsa on the side so people can add their own.
