Points per game.

So we've now been doing this weight watchers thing for a whopping 2 or 3 days. It's going well enough so far. I act as his secretary and he reports to me anything he eats. It's kind of fun for my detail and list oriented brain. I've always enjoyed organizing things. Part of my dorkiness. Our problem so far is reaching is points level with healthy food. When he's on shift patrolling the streets of Schweinfurt he is not allowed home. Going to the commissary is also frowned upon since they have weapons, but even if they do go, they have to buy something pre-made since they have no access to refrigeration or microwaves. They are allowed in restaurants. Taco bell. Burger King. The Doner Kebob stands (OMG DELICIOUS!) or the shopette. Limited options with not many healthy choices. But we're figuring it out. Yesterday we donated 9 points to an alcoholic milkshake. Not going to lie it was delicious. I tend to ignore the points value of my intake. I do what I want. =D

McDonalds is generally better with points than Burger King. A Doner is like 15-20 points but SOOOO worth it. Sadly it will not be a common food source since its half his daily allowance. We haven't broken in to his activity points yet, but luckily since he was at the range for the beginning of the week and its a four day holiday whihc means only 1 PT session a day, he hasn't been earning as many of those as predicted.

On another unrelated note our X-Box died. Very upsetting. We can send it in for free repair since its there problem, but we've run into huge issues with them not being able to verify our military address for some reason and blah blah blah. We're gonna call back and fight with them again later. But until then...no Rockband. No HALO. No Gears of War. Just means more quality bonding time.

  1. I was going to comment before and didn't...try pre-packaging things. It's a life saver! Scott takes 3 baggies with him to work for munching (and staying away from the Little Debbie brownies): carrots, pepper strips, grapes (washed and off the vine...he doesn't konw how to take them off himself!). You can also try apples, orange sections (with baby wipes for cleaning up), broccoli, cauliflower, cucumbers, raisans, prunes (Jace takes these to school!), cheese sticks, trail mix...so many options! Good luck!

  2. I would except he's not allowed to have food in the Patrol Car. They aren't allowed to eat or drink in the car. So after like 1159 the only option is McDonalds and the shopette. The only exception is when the desk sergeants need food and send a patrol to pick it up.
