The Baby Journals. Week...4?

Morning Folks. I think it's week four. Honestly...I'm not sure. The baby is eating my brain. For example...apparently my Doctor's appointment was this morning. I went yesterday morning. Oops! They snuck me in with a different doctor. Long story short, got my little ultrasound. This is baby at 9 weeks. He's about 2.5 cm long. Think raspberry sized.

I have another apt in 3 weeks where they can do the ultrasound screening and measurements of the liquid in the babies skull. From that info as well as other random stuff they can figure the chance like 1 out of 4,000 that your child will have a chormosomal abnormality. That way you can decide if you want a CVS to test the baby's DNA. I'm not getting either done. The ultrasound testing doesn't give any actual "your baby has this" type results. It results in a chance that your baby will have an issue. Your baby has a 1 out of 30 chance that it will have down syndrome. Well your baby also has a 29 out of 30 that it won't. I'm not fan of random statistics and rates. There is always a chance. Our baby will be loved regardless. Let me tell you what I have learned this week. Baby doesn't like it when I eat...he also doesn't like it when I don't eat. He's a fickle beast. I also woke up at 4 this morning to go to the bathroom and had the urge to make my husband and tell him I was going into labor. I wanted to see the reaction in his semicomatose state. I asked him after he woke up and he said he would have told me to drive myself. Such a butt. =D In reality though my husband is a saint. He bought me egg rolls in the middle of the night. Helped me put my jacket on...even though I'm not quite that pregnant yet. Said its ok that I sleep 16 hours a day because I'm sleeping for 2 now. =D Good husband.

On another seperate note. Husband is buying me a tank to drive around in since he wants baby and I safe. In reality its a VW Jetta. Kind of excited. That's all I got. I'm going back to bed. Because I can.

  4. You've got to stop saying "he." Your little fickle beast is a girl! Scott says so, and he's rarely wrong about these things! Plus, in my experience, girls are much nastier on the inside than boys...and it's rumored they make your nose wider! (Something to look forward to.)
